vampires, anyone?

I don't think I've come clean yet about my latest reading obsession.
I was ravenously reading (are you ready?) a vampire love story quadrology (what is a 4 part book series called?). For teens. At least according to the library filing system.
I'm not usually one for vampires, werewolfs or any other kind of horror/scary type movies or books but this wasn't actually scary.
When I borrowed the book from the library I had no idea what it was about. I just knew that it was a best seller on so I requested it and when I finally got it (I think I was like...number 49 on the list) I just started reading it.
I whipped through the last book with a whopping 700+ pages. I think I liked it so much because the emotions were quite raw and real (do you remember what it felt like to be in love when you were 17?) and it took me back to my days of reading fantasy novels. Plus it was light reading and that just happened to be what I was looking for.
So I'm finished and I'm sad that it's all over.
If you're interested, the series is by Stephanie Meyer and can be found here.

  1. Vanessa! How do you make your blog soooo cool?!

  2. Thanks Kelley,
Click on the link on the upper left hand corner that says:
You can find tons of cutiepatootie backgrounds.

  3. how did you find the book in terms of suggestability or appropriateness? how should i feel about my 13-year old cousin, she's reading it and i think my uncle just bought it for her without any knowledge about what it's about. i know Focus on the Family has reviewed it and it gets darker each book as the story line progresses?

  4. This summer, I worked with a girl who was reading these. She would ask for the split shift everyday because she wanted to have the time to sit in her car to read these books. Any time she had a break or it was slow with serving she would think about the books and talk about the characters like they were real life.

I love hearing from you!
