30 weeks + 6 days

I had a midwife appointment today. Unfortunately as I was driving from Waterloo to Guelph the office called me and wanted to reschedule for later that day as my primary midwife had delivered a baby this morning and wouldn't be back in time.
Sigh.
But no worries, I only had to kill a couple hours before the rescheduled appointment. Noah and I walked around downtown and I bought a nursing tank top. I think I need to take it back, though. It was ridiculously overpriced and I'm pretty sure I could one for cheaper. We'll see, though.

Anyway, so the midwife appointment went well and it seems that baby is head down although he is still mobile and can move around. Everything seems to be going well and I okayed all the tests they want to do on the baby once he's born.

Not much new. I still have a sweet tooth. I still feel this little guy bouncing around inside me. And I'm still slowing down big time.

On days like today I feel quite overwhelmed and tired - especially when I feel like Noah's been sick for over 2 weeks now (a week with stomach flu and now this darned head cold). Plus Jamie's been sick all week so that's no help to me.
I'm exhausted and I need a weekend away. Ah well.
I'm also VERY glad that we are moving to a house. Even today as I did the stairs with a cranky boy I felt like I was going to go into labour at any minute! So, yes. It's a GREAT thing we are moving. :)

maternity wear

I do love the comfort of wearing maternity jeans, but man-oh-man I HATE having to keep pulling them up every 5 minutes! I can still fit into most of my jeans, but it's far more comfortable to wear maternity stuff but I'm not quite big enough that my belly holds them up...oh well.
Soon enough I guess.

Week 13

Not too much new here.
I seem to get hungry every 2 hours but then I end up eating the wrong thing (ie. sugar). Eek. Not good!
I'm feeling more energetic (yahoo!) and I'm finding myself nesting already! Perhaps it's the months of feeling like doing absolutely nothing and perhaps it's the pregnancy hormones kicking it in, but either way I've sorted and put away all of the clothes in Noah's closet that were too small and put them away in boxes.
Today I sorted through all the clothes in my closet and drawers and ended up with a Rubbermaid bin full of clothes that either don't fit or I don't particularly like (most of them fell into the first category, unfortunately) as well as a black garbage bag full!
And.......yeah.
I'm getting excited to find out whether this baby is a boy or a girl and I've already bought a crib (used for $40! It's really nice too!) and I'm looking around to borrow a bassinet or something. I'm doing room layouts in my head for Noah's room and the spare room and trying to figure out how to best use our space.
So...it's good. It was fun to pull out all my maternity clothes today. I like my maternity clothes.
But I'm still in my normal clothes for now.
So that's that!

Disappointments

Well, Jamie and I did indeed go to this Second Hand Maternity Shop. It took us over 40 minutes to get there and we passed it the first time and found it hard to turn around during traffic. By the time we finally got there and looked around I was incredibly disappointed in their prices. Apparently they also have new clothes there too, but they charged ridiculous prices. $70 for a shirt?!? $300 for a dress?!?! Rubbish.
So that was disappointed and I felt so bad for dragging Jamie out - he was a good sport though.

Shopping!

Not much is happening baby wise - at least that I can tell. I am noticing that I have moved into the "I look like I love food and have stopped working out" phase and have some chub/thickness around the midsection. Nothing noticeably "pregnant" looking for sure, but I'm feeling less comfortable (at least about how I look) in my clothes.
Today (in Saskatoon) I went with Kathy Alm to a mall and happened upon Motherhood Maternity. Well...it was my lucky day. I got a few basics and was thrilled with everything. I even got some really good prices. They had this fake pillow belly you could strap on and test with your clothes if you aren't showing yet (which I'm not really). It was so great albeit lumpy looking :D! I love the things I got:
A pair of dark jeans - very comfy and they fit me well.
A jean skirt - very cute and exactly what I wanted.
A pair of green capris - ones that I will definitely be able to wear after the baby is born too.
A bright blue v-neck tank top - a simple and extremely comfortable top.
A simple white v-neck blouse - on sale for $12.99! Great for the whole pregnancy I think.
So all in all, very pleased. I love that I have a valid excuse to go shopping! That makes this prego very happy.

I got in!

Woot! I got into the Midwifery Clinic.
I'm relieved. And excited!
I'm so glad - AND the clinic is so close to where I live which is just really the icing on the cake.
So I'll be rotating between two different midwives and my first appointment is on Mar. 29th I think.
This is making it seem so much more real.
I said to Jamie last night that sometimes it's all I can think about, but then sometimes it doesn't seem real.
I look at my stomach and ponder the fact that at some point in the next 7 months I won't be able to see my feet for a little while.
I can't really fathom how big my stomach is going to get at this point.
I wonder about how long it will take before I can't fit into my pants. (I don't look forward to that - although it'll be fun to buy new clothes.)
It's also interesting to note that the Old Navy in Guelph does not have a maternity section.
And I didn't see any maternity clothing stores in the mall either.
I can't see you little peanut, but you sure are changing my body (and my life) already!

Baby Stuff!

I've been finding some adorable sites online for a plethora of baby paraphernalia.
Here are a few of my faves:

For all your diaper bag needs:
www.skiphop.com
My personal favourite is the Expo.

For baby shower invites and birth announcements I like these 2 sites:
Tiny Prints
and
Magnetic Messenger

For adorable maternity clothes:
Kiki's Fashions are great and affordable!
and
Due Maternity Clothing has beautiful clothes, but aren't necessarily in the "cheap" category.
and of course
Old Navy has some great, affordable maternity pieces.

For beautiful but expensive baby items I like to drool at:
Pottery Barn for Kids
and
Baby Guru

And finally the solid and always reliable:

Sears and BabiesR'Us
Which is probably where I'll register. :D yay baby stuff!
